Even in class, students are diligently taking notes and writing them densely. But during the exam, the grades just can't go up!

I worked hard myself, and the students also worked hard. However, efficiency cannot be improved.

In fact, this is a mistake that many novice teachers make - that is, the lecture is "too full".

Overloaded with information, students passively receive knowledge and mechanically copy it onto paper.

Instead of digesting and integrating knowledge on one's own. So, teachers must learn to leave blank spaces in their classrooms.

A blank classroom will give students time to digest and acquire knowledge. A good lesson is not about teaching too much, but about staying well.

The 'blank space' in teaching is not laziness, but an advanced teaching art. It means that teachers are not in a hurry to fill every second of the classroom, but consciously leave space for students to think, feel, and participate.

1、 Don't rush to talk every minute

When the teacher talks endlessly and is speaking on their own from beginning to end, students' thinking is often passive. The teacher is too fast, and they need to work hard to keep up with the teacher's pace, but rarely stop to digest and "think" on their own.

And when the teacher pauses appropriately at key points, students' attention is actually pulled back, and they will start to search for answers and form judgments in their own minds.

2、 Don't rush to provide answers, let students think actively

Many teachers are accustomed to revealing answers immediately before students have even reacted, which, although fast-paced, deprives students of the opportunity to think independently.

The core of teaching is not 'telling students the answer', but 'guiding students to discover the answer'.

Just like when drawing, students can discover occlusion relationships through the teacher's demonstration, instead of the teacher telling them to show occlusion relationships.

3、 Pause at critical points, creating a 'learning gap'

Consciously pausing in the classroom not only helps students organize their thoughts, but also enables teachers to grasp the rhythm.

For example, after discussing a key knowledge point, taking a brief pause and giving students a few seconds to think, record, or ask questions can often be more profound than a barrage of explanations.

Only with such knowledge points can children have time to think and truly grasp the key points of knowledge

4、 Openness and Respect for Learning Laws

Learning is a process consisting of "receiving understanding digesting outputting".

Too dense information input will only make students have indigestion.

The blank space in class is a manifestation of respecting the laws of learning.

Leave space for students' understanding, time for discussion, and space for thinking.

Instead of giving students an impenetrable wall

5、 Let the classroom truly come to life

In some classrooms, the PPT is filled with text, and the teacher speaks passionately, but the students are copying notes and rushing to write.

This kind of classroom may seem efficient, but in reality, students have become copying machines.

And in classrooms with blank spaces, the pace varies from fast to slow, the content varies from deep to shallow, and there is interaction, thinking, and silence between teachers and students.

Can enable students to truly think about the key points of knowledge

A truly good classroom is not about talking too much, but about thinking deeply.

Blank space is not a blank space, but a space for the growth of thinking.

When teachers learn to speak less, students can think more; When the classroom is no longer a one-man classroom, but a classroom for all teachers and students, students can learn to think.
