It is important to ensure continuity of classes and referrals to win the hearts of children! Here are ten tips to make children love themselves more! Winning a child's heart is winning the retention rate!

1. Principled and approachable

There is a principle: as a teacher in a training institution, there must be a bottom line, and children's language and behavior cannot exceed this bottom line. Affinity refers to being able to joke around with children in daily life. When children first meet their teachers, you create a strict and authoritative image that can intimidate them and make their parents feel that you are a reliable teacher. At the same time, showing a friendly and gentle side at certain moments can make children feel that the teacher used to be quite good. 'Strict now and relaxed later' will make it easier for you to interact with children. 'Relaxing before being strict' will only make children feel that the teacher has a bad temper, after all, it is difficult to get along with the child first and then establish authority.

2. Affinity and maintaining distance

A teacher who is a bit distant (serious when necessary) but very approachable in private (joking with children) will make children more likable. For example, we can talk to children about their favorite comics, where we can go to play in spring, and which museums are worth visiting on weekends. This is a form of affinity. However, if the child asks if the teacher can tell us about your boyfriend or teacher's salary, or what kind of person do you think Principal XX is, which is a highly confidential question, you can refuse to answer.

3. Learn to put oneself in others' shoes and switch roles

When communicating with children, it is important to understand how they are thinking and also to encourage them to think about what they would do as teachers. For example, when I was in the studio before, if a child couldn't draw or didn't draw properly, I would be very angry and think why the child didn't care and didn't listen. But for children, this is their first time encountering such painting tools and it takes some time to digest, so they cannot get started immediately. After I understand this, I will become more patient with children and use different methods to help them better master these tools. The resulting works will also have good effects.

4. Use your heart to understand the world of children

As a teacher, especially in training institutions, childlike innocence is really important! Maintaining a childlike innocence can make you younger and also help you understand children's thoughts faster, bringing you closer to them. When I was in the studio before, I would take their favorite animations, novels, and comics very seriously. There are many things we can talk about with them during the painting process. They will also be surprised that the teacher knows so much, the teacher is so great!

5. Be more tolerant towards children

Don't think your child has a problem or even give up just because they make mistakes. No child can make mistakes, even we adults can make mistakes, so it's okay to be tolerant towards children. To understand why we make mistakes, how to save ourselves after making mistakes, how to avoid making mistakes again, communicate with parents, and work together with parents to correct children.

6. Mastering the 'own people' effect

Put us together with the children. In psychology, people instinctively resist the words of people they dislike, but are more likely to accept and trust the words of "their own people". Using 'we' more often will give children a sense of belonging and make them feel that the teacher genuinely cares for them and treats them as their own. For example, "Our class", "Together", "All of us"

7. Make good use of third person praise

This way of speaking is more persuasive. Praising children through compliments from others will make them more confident in their own strengths and happier.

8. Learn to listen

Children will whisper to their favorite teachers, and we play the role of listeners at this moment. And can obtain key information in this type of listening, such as: Xiao Bu said Monday is her birthday and she will turn seven years old! Then we can send birthday wishes to the parents on Monday and give them a small gift during class. The child will be happy for a long time. At the same time, it can also analyze each child's personality through listening, and communicate better in the future.

9. Principle of moderate praise and criticism

Suppress first and then speak up. When criticizing students, "speak the ugly words first". This way, students' attention will also be focused on the conversation, and they can also let the child know their own problems. With the teacher's praise, the child's mood will gradually improve, and they will not react to the teacher's criticism. I suggest everyone follow this formula to criticize students: you are clearly a great child+point out problems for criticism+the teacher's expectations of you, and the teacher believes that you will be even better.

10. Retain precious memories

Every progress and smile of the children are preserved. Create a growth guide for children, allowing them to see the teacher's dedication. Many details are forgotten by the children themselves, but the teacher actually recorded these precious moments, which will make the children even more surprised.
